Bar SHAKE which shares the same owners as neighbouring Sushi RYU, aims to shake up the cocktail scene in Kuala Lumpur, pun intended, by offering customers the country’s first authentic Japanese-style cocktail bar experience, alongside the sister outlet for a complete night’s out experience

 

Jointly concocted by Owner Mixologist Osamu “Sam” Kinugawa and Singapore-based Restaurant Lifestyle Asia, Bar SHAKE derives its name from the stylised Japanese technique of shaking cocktails known as “Hard Shake” created by Ginza’s legendary Tender Bar.

 

Behind the discreet heavy wooden door, step into an intimate cocoon of light and shadows where cocktail devotees can choose to sit at the 6-seater raw edge wooden counter with bottles displayed behind a back lit lattice screen that Sam holds court over or a row of Burgundy red banquette for a more convivial experience with friends. For a minimum spend, there is also a private chandelier room that can sit up to 10 persons.

 

Predominantly decked in dark wood, Bar SHAKE exudes quiet sophistication while the private room with its crystal chandeliers and chesterfield sofas provides a contrast in ambience.

With an emphasis on fruit cocktails and sake-based cocktails, Bar SHAKE can please the most discerning palates with our range of artisanal spirits and homemade mixers. For cocktail aficionados, our SHAKE-makase experience allows customers to request for bespoke creations based on their favourite base spirits and preferred flavour profiles. Bar SHAKE also carries one of the largest collections of Japanese craft gins in South East Asia while the selection of Japanese whiskies changes according to what Sam can hand carry back from Japan.
